Sri Balaji University, Pune (SBUP) is a private university established by Sri Balaji Society (SBS), a charitable educational trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.
With a strong legacy of 27+ years of excellence in management education, SBUP today stands as a vibrant, integrated campus, housing four renowned management institutes and eight specialized schools, known for industry-focused learning and disciplined academic culture and excellent placements.
SBUP offers its flagship Post Graduate Management Programs (MBA) through its four management institutions - Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM), Balaji Institute of Technology & Management (BITM), Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB), and Balaji Institute of Management and Human Resources Development (BIMHRD).
Alongside its well-known legacy management institutes, SBUP has developed eight focused schools that deliver education across diverse fields such as commerce, computer studies, law, liberal arts, actuarial science, defence studies, sports sciences, and social sciences. These schools are designd to offer subject focused learning, practical exposure, and academic depth, playing a significant role in shaping students academically, professionally, and personally.

SBUP History
The university follows the vision and principles of its founding father and chancellor, late. Prof. Dr. (Col). A. Balasubramanian who is dearly known as ‘Bala Sir’ in the management education ecosystem.
The Inspiring Journey of Bala Sir
Bala sir was a powerhouse of energy and knowledge. From a young age, Bala Sir understood the importance of education and was motivated to conquer the new frontiers of knowledge. He joined the Indian Army as a Jawan and during his 29 years of service he contributed the war against Pakistan in 1965 and 1971, and the IPKF military operations in Sri Lanka in 1991. While serving the Army, he pursued three postgraduate degrees with full honors and was later conferred with the honorary rank of ‘Colonel’ by the President of India after retiring from the Army.
Our Legacy and Growth
Drawing from his experience of military and formation of the ‘Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS)’, he started Sri Balaji Society (SBS) in the year 1999 and founded Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM). Later in 2002, BITM was formed followed by Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB) and Balaji Institute of Management and Human Resource Development (BIMHRD). These four institutes run UGC-approved MBA Programs under Sri Balaji University, Pune in Tathawade.
Campus Facilities
The sprawling campus includes a spacious hostel building with comfortable residential facilities for more than 700 male and female students. Apart from a tennis, badminton, and basketball court, the hostel building also has a fully equipped gym and a swimming pool. The university also has two auditoriums with 1000 plus capacity along with its spacious and IT-enabled classrooms, computer labs, reading rooms, conference rooms, and library facilities. The cafeteria located on the campus along with a convenience store and a snack and fruit juice bar caters to the community of students and staff.
